PATRIARCH Bob Ingham made the trek to the track yesterday along with his wife, Norma, to watch family horse Hoystar leave the famed Crown Lodge a winner with victory in The Schweppervescence.
Hoystar is one of three horses the Inghams will retain when the sale of Woodlands Stud racing and breeding operation to Sheik Mohammed's Darley is approved by the Foreign Investment Review Board. "It is just great to be out here and see him win, great to have a lot of the family here with us," Ingham said after former stable jockey Darren Beadman guided Hoystar to beat Al Be Nimble and Certain Magic.Meanwhile, champion South African jockey Jeff Lloyd made an immediate impact riding at the Golden Slipper meeting for the first time yesterday when he rode it back-to-back wins on emerging stayer Nuclear Sky in the Neville Sellwood Stakes over 2000 metres.
