Horse Riding Equipment

Horse riding equipment is important to make your riding experience safe and more exciting. There are several types of horse riding equipment, each of which may be intended for different functions. Some of them are listed below.

Hose Riding Clothing

Horse riding clothing is meant to provide protection to the riders. The type of clothing the rider wears may depend on the type of riding occasion but most often, riders may wear a set of safety clothing that includes a helmet, riding shirt, riding jackets or sweaters, breeches or pants, a pair of gloves, undergarments, socks and boots.

Saddles

Saddles are horse riding equipment used to support horse riders. These are often fastened at the back of the horse by means of a girth. Saddles may come in a variety of styles.

Bridles

Bridles are horse riding equipment used to direct the horse. It is through the bridles that riders are provided the possibility to control the horse. Riders may control the horses' movements and direct them to particular directions by nudging the bridles.

Bits

Bits are horse riding equipment that are often placed at the mouth of horses. Typically, bits are made from metal or synthetic material. They are attached to the bridles to enable the rider to control the horse.

Hackamores

These pieces of horse riding equipment are a type of bridle that has no bits attached. It is basically a headgear worn on the horse's head. Instead of a bit, a noseband may be attached to this kind of equipment.
